Hicham is the Founder and Partner of Abbadi Professional Corporation, which he established in 2009. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce degree, a master’s in accounting, and has his CGA and CPA designation. With extensive experience and over 15 years in accounting and audits, Hicham excels at seeing the big picture and fostering teamwork. He believes that the best way to run a successful business is by having full trust in the abilities of each team member. At APC, everyone collaborates as equals to achieve shared goals and drive success.

Outside of his professional life, Hicham enjoys reading, hiking, traveling, and playing soccer. He is also dedicated to giving back to the community, serving on the board of directors for two non-profit organizations. Known for his appreciation of solitude, Hicham finds balance in quiet moments, away from the hustle of running a business.

Naomi joined APC in January 2022, as an administrative assistant. After gaining experience in various roles, she advanced to her current position as Executive Director. In this capacity, she also serves as Director of Marketing and Director of HR. In these roles, she oversees strategic initiatives across the organization, ensuring all departments operate efficiently and effectively to meet company goals and maintain high standards of service.

Naomi’s meticulous attention to detail and exceptional interpersonal skills have been pivotal to APC’s operational success and client satisfaction. After earning her Bachelor of Applied Arts in Justice Studies in 2020, she gained valuable experience in the justice field before transitioning to the accounting industry. The analytical skills and attention to detail she developed through her studies enhance her problem-solving abilities and reinforce her commitment to maintaining high standards of accuracy and compliance at APC.

Outside of work, Naomi enjoys practicing yoga, exploring her creativity through art, watching hockey (go Flames!), reading, and spending time with her two cats, Shark and Rocket.

Since joining APC in July 2023, Sophia has played a crucial role in creating effective strategies to attract new clients and enhance the company’s brand visibility. Her responsibilities include optimizing website content to improve user experience and drive web traffic, reviewing drafts for print and social media materials, organizing events, collecting feedback, and preparing detailed reports.

Sophia completed her education in Morocco, before moving to Calgary. She holds two bachelor’s degrees, Economics & Management and Business Development, as well as a Master’s diploma in Marketing from IAE Lyon III and HEM University. Her professional background includes roles in project management and event planning, as well as a position as a Sales Advisor for Mont Blanc.

Sophia’s expertise lies in marketing and strategic thinking, which enables her to anticipate challenges and opportunities and develop long-term plans that drive APC’s success.

Outside of her professional life, Sophia enjoys engaging in Calgary’s nightlife and hiking local trails. She believes in the value of forward-thinking and personal growth.

Cheryle joined APC in August 2013 as a working partner. Her primary responsibilities include ensuring the clients she brought from her previous bookkeeping company receive the same care and attention as before. She also assists the team with their workload and clients, while supporting both existing and new staff, utilizing her 40+ years of experience in the accounting field.

Cheryle’s interest in pursuing a career in the financial industry was sparked during her time as a co-owner of a Holiday Rent-A-Car franchise, where she managed the bookkeeping. While working full-time and raising two boys, she completed four years of the CGA Course through correspondence. She furthered her training by completing the Bedford Accounting Course, which later became Simply Accounting and is now Sage. Cheryle was subsequently hired by the company to train new clients on the software before founding her own in-home accounting business, Cher & Sher, in 1995.

Cheryle specializes in monthly bookkeeping, tax preparation, and dealing with the CRA. Her extensive experience has helped her maintain long-term relationships with clients and serve as a mentor for accounting students.

Outside of work, Cheryle enjoys reading and watching tennis. She is actively involved in the Ramsay Community.

Serena joined APC in March 2021 as a Junior Accountant after graduating from SAIT with a Diploma in Finance. She plays a vital role within the team, specializing in bookkeeping, corporate tax returns, and personal tax. Serena is currently pursuing a Bachelor of Business Administration with a major in Accounting at SAIT, set to graduate in October 2026.

Her expertise lies within the finance and accounting industry, where she excels in adaptability, attention to detail, problem-solving, and communication skills. Serena’s dedication to her professional responsibilities is outstanding and does not go unnoticed. Her commitment to accuracy and efficiency plays a critical role in ensuring client satisfaction.

Luo Yi first joined APC as a Senior Accountant in March 2023, specializing in accounting, tax, audit, and review engagements. Before joining APC, she earned her CPA from CPA Australia and has accumulated over 20 years of experience in the financial industry, including leadership roles in financial reporting, financial control, and risk management. Her expertise lies primarily in accounting and financial analysis, bringing a wealth of knowledge and skill to her role.

Outside of work, Luo Yi enjoys music and sports and has a keen interest in interior design—a passion that reflects her creative side Her personal motto is: “Approach life and the world with sincerity, respect, and bravery.”

Yang joined APC in March 2024 as an IT Specialist. In this role, he oversees new equipment installations, system configurations, security software setups, internet troubleshooting, and local network administration. He also supports remote work systems, performs data backups and recovery, and handles hardware and software repairs.

Holding a Bachelor of Engineering in Computer Science and Technology, he previously served as an Equipment Supervisor at the China Aviation Planning & Design Institute from July 2008 to February 2024. His expertise encompasses repairing PCs and Macs, troubleshooting printers, and data recovery. Yang’s proactive approach and technical skills are invaluable to APC.

Outside of work, he enjoys playing soccer, jogging, and volunteering with the Calgary Catholic Immigration Society. Yang lives by two guiding principles: “Be proactive rather than passively accepting” and “Focus on your strengths rather than weaknesses.”

Hannah has been a key member of APC since September 2022, bringing nearly 20 years of expertise in finance. Her responsibilities include assisting clients with revenue, cost of sales, and tax calculations, as well as preparing monthly and year-end financial statements. She also handles tax filings, supports clients in obtaining tax refunds, and audits annual financial reports to ensure compliance and optimize operations.

Hannah holds a bachelor’s degree in finance and is both a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and a Certified Tax Consultant in China. Before joining APC, she built a strong career as a CFO and Finance Director in the real estate and infrastructure industries. She is currently preparing for the CPA exam in Canada, with a specialization in tax planning and fundraising.

Despite her professional focus, Hannah is known for her playful and creative personality. Outside of work, Hannah leads an active lifestyle, enjoying tennis, badminton, and hiking with family and friends. She is also involved in volunteer activities at her child’s school and her community church.

Shirley has been a dedicated member of APC since September 2015, bringing over nine years of experience in full cycle accounting, review, and audit.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business with a major in accounting, earned in both Canada and China. Before joining APC, Shirley accumulated over ten years of accounting experience in the manufacturing industry in China and another decade of experience in accounting firms in Canada.

Specializing in tax and audit, Shirley’s expertise is complemented by her strong financial analysis, time management, and problem-solving skills.

Outside of work, Shirley enjoys reading and cooking. She is also actively involved in her community, providing tax assistance to low-income seniors at her church through the CVITP program.

Karla has been a valuable member of APC for 4 years. As a Senior Accountant, her main responsibilities include handling corporation taxes and related tasks such as audits, consulting, bookkeeping, and T-form filing. Karla holds a bachelor’s degree in international business with a specialty in finances and a degree in production accounting.

With 17 years of experience in oil and gas accounting, she brings extensive expertise to her role at APC. She is currently working towards her CPA designation to further enhance her skills and qualifications. Her areas of specialization are corporation taxes and oil and gas accounting. Known for being a hard worker and problem solver, Karla has an eye for detail and takes great responsibility and pride in her work.

Outside of her professional life, Karla enjoys participating in sports and actively volunteers her time at her children’s school and sports activities. Impressively, she also represents Canada in padel tennis, through Padel Canada.

Oliver, APC’s beloved office dog, has been bringing joy and comfort to the APC team since 2013. As a cherished member of our office, Oliver plays a crucial role in brightening our days, especially during the stressful tax season. His presence provides a much-needed dose of relaxation and cheer, for both the staff, and clients.

Well-loved and well-cared-for, Oliver enjoys a life full of attention, affection, and (many) walks a day. He thrives in the company of his many friends at APC and particularly looks forward to the days that clients bring their dogs along, which makes for some of his happiest moments. Oliver truly embodies the heart and soul of our office, making every workday a little brighter.

Sanam has been an integral part of APC for 10 years, bringing a wealth of expertise and dedication to the team. Her primary responsibilities include bookkeeping, preparing financial statements, managing GST and corporate tax returns, and handling communications with the CRA.

She holds a bachelor’s degree in business studies and has also completed a course in Business Communication for Accountants. Sanam specializes in bookkeeping and accounts reconciliation using QuickBooks and Sage 50, and financial statement preparation with Caseware. Her skills in these areas are essential to the smooth operation of APC. Sanam’s dedication, integrity, quick learning ability, and attention to detail make her a highly valued member of the firm. Outside of work, Sanam enjoys cooking and crafts!
